A man succeeded in catching the Schrättlig. In the morning he filled a small bottle with the contents of his chamber pot and closed it tightly. Then he went to the mountain pasture and carried the bottle with him. At noon his own wife came and did not let up with her pleading and begging until he opened the stopper and poured out the water. She was in great distress as long as the hex had not been lifted.

316. Die eigene Frau als Hexe

Einem Manne gelang es, den Schrättlig zu fangen. Er füllte nämlich am Morgen ein Fläschchen mit dem Inhalte seines Nachttopfes und verschloss es recht fest. Dann ging er nach der Alp und trug das Fläschchen bei sich. Am Mittag kam die eigene Frau und liess nicht nach mit Bitten und Flehen, bis er den Pfropf öffnete und das Wasser ausgoß. Sie war nämlich selber in grosser Not, solange der Bann nicht gelöst wurde.
