At the western end of the village lived a married couple who lived in discord. The man died of old age without reconciling with his spouse. That is why he was denied the peace of the grave. High above the cottage, from the air, one could not infrequently hear a wailing cry: “Renounce! Renounce!”

Am westlichen Ende des Dorfes wohnte vorzeiten ein Ehepaar, das im Unfrieden lebte. Hochbetagt starb der Mann, ohne sich mit seiner Ehehälfte auszusöhnen. Darum blieb ihm die Grabesruhe versagt. Hoch über dem Häuschen, aus der Luft herab hörte man nicht selten ein Wehgeschrei: “Verzich! Verzich!”
