332 people died of the plague in Jonschwil, i.e. the majority in Oberuzwil, which at that time was still a parish of Jonschwil. Whole wagons full of corpses were brought from there. One day, two carters who were transporting the corpses died of illness on the open road, so that only the third was able to finish the transport.

465. Pest, 1611 und 1629.

In Jonschwil starben 332 Personen an der Pest, d. h. die Mehrzahl in Oberuzwil, das damals noch nach Jonschwil kirchgenössig war. Ganze Wagen voll Leichen habe man von dorther gebracht. Eines Tages seien sogar zwei Fuhrleute, die den Leichentransport besorgten, auf offener Strasse der Krankheit erlegen, so dass erst der dritte die Leichenfuhr beendigen konnte.
