506 folk stories and snippets in a circuit around the mighty Swiss Canton of Sankt Gallen. What a wonderful journey into the mountains and valleys of the Swiss imagination and culture it has been. Jakob Kuoni’s achievement nearly 120 years ago is amazing and I have really enjoyed translating his work and trying to make it more accessible for people around the world to discover and appreciate.

So where now? I’m not sure. I have be experimenting with turning and combining some of the fragments into a series of intertwined short stories. I have also started with some paintings and illustrations based on the writings, of variable quality. I have also learned a huge amount over the last year so I think I will return to earlier entries and give them a polish.
