In a blacksmith’s shop, the Schrättlig came in, and when it was banished, a straw was lying on the floor of the room. The blacksmith, not being lazy, put it in the vice and made it tight. In the morning the witch was stuck in it and pleaded that she should be released.

Der Schrättlig

In einer Schmiede kehrte der Schrättlig ein, und als man ihn bannte, lag ein Strohhalm auf dem Zimmerboden. Der Schmied, nicht faul, steckte diesen in den Schraubstock und machte ihn fest. Am Morgen steckte die Hexe drinnen und bat flehentlich, man soll sie wieder freilassen.
