On the Oberrieterberg the Wild Hunt is called “the Muoltahee” (also Multahee). “You are like the Multahee“, is also said here to a hunter. The Muoltahee moves out at night with a terrible noise from the North Hill or the “Norder Knorra“, which descends towards Rehag. Whoever gets into its territory suddenly feels tied to the back of the procession, has to go along with it and often has to take part for years, namely until he becomes the first in line, where he is then redeemed and can go home again.

At Büchel, not far from Rüti, you can sometimes see a beast-like creature that rises up next to the wanderer at night, emitting a terribly horrible scream. It is called “the Wüetihö“.

Das Muoltahee

Am Oberrieterberge heisst die wilde Jagd “das Muoltahee” (auch Multahee). “Du tust wie’s Multahee”, sagt man auch hier zu einem Wildfange. Von der nach Rehag hinabziehenden Anhöhe Nord oder dem “Norder Knorra” zieht das Muoltahee mit grauenvollem Lärmen nachts aus. Wer in seinen Bereich gerät, fühlt sich plötzlich hinten an den Zug gefesselt, muss mitziehen und oft jahrelang mitmachen, nämlich bis er der Vorderste an der Reihe wird, wo er dann erlöst ist und wieder heim kann.

Auch bei Büchel, unweit Rüti, gewahrt man zuweilen ein tierartiges Wesen, welches, zur Nachtzeit ein furchtbar widriges Geschrei ausstossend, neben dem Wandernden aufstiegt. Es heisst “das Wüetihö”.
