Die Schlange

Im Langmoos, Gemeinde Berneck, ass einst ein kleines Kind im Freien Milch und Brot aus einem Schüsselchen. Da kam eine Schlange zu ihm und hielt mit, zeigte aber eine besondere Vorliebe für das Brot. Da Schlug ihr Kind mit dem Löffel auf den Kopf und sprach: „Muest au Minkli essa, nöd Möcktli“

Wird von Schlangen und Unten überall erzählt, doch meist mit der Wendung, dass das Tier die Milch bevorzugt. Auch lässt die Sage gewöhnlich das Kind gedeihen, so lange die Schlange mit ihm ist; nachdem sie aber entdeckt und getötet wird, siecht das Kind hin und stirbt.
