At Christmas you can hear the Wuotië high in the air, a wild cry coming from the southeast. Anyone who opens the window to hear it better or even to look at it will infallibly get a swollen face.

Zu Weihnachten hört man das Wuotië hoch in den Lüften, ein wüstes Geschrei, das von Südosten herkommt. Wer das Fenster öffnet, um es besser zu hören oder gar nach ihm zu sehen, wird unfehlbar ein geschwollenes Gesicht davontragen.
