From the village of Flums, on the other side of the Schilztobel, in the Studerüsch, on the Ruhstein (resting stone), a godmother, returning from a large “Göttiwein“, left the child, who was to be baptised, and when she returned in fear she could no longer find it. Perhaps wild animals ate the poor worm. As punishment, she wandered restlessly around the Ruhstein as an unholy spirit, searching for the abandoned and lost baptismal child.

331. Ein böser Tauftag

Vom Dorf Flums aus jenseits des Schilztobels, im Staudenrüsch, auf dem Ruhstein, liess eine Gotte, von einem grossen “Göttiwein” heimkehrend, das Taufkind liegen und fand dasselbe, als sie angstvoll zurückkehrte, nicht mehr. Wahrscheinlich haben wilde Tiere den armen Wurm gefressen. Zur Strafe wandelt sie als unseliger Geist rastlos um den Ruhstein, das verlassene und verlorene Taufkind suchend.
