A roofer came home late in the evening. He was sleeping on the top floor. Suddenly the household heard him making a lot of noise. The master of the house wanted to go and quiet things down. He opened the chamber door upstairs. The roofer jumped up joyfully and said: “Shoemaker, it is right that you should come. Otherwise the Schrättlig would have killed me”.

Der Schrättlig

Ein Dachdecker kam abends spät nach Hause. Er schlief im obersten Stocke. Plötzlich hörten ihm die Hausleute mächtig lärmen. Der Hausherr wollte hingehen und Ruhe schaffen. Er öffnete droben die Kammertür. Freudig sprang der Dachdecker auf und sprach: “Schuhmacher, es ist doch recht, dass Ihr kommt! Der Schrättlig hätte mich sonst getötet”.
